Rebecca Weber runs a rescue operation for stray cats on the New Jersey shore, placing them in foster homes until someone adopts them.

“Black cats are the hardest to place for adoption,” she said. “People will call up and say, ‘I want a cat, but I don’t want a black one.’”

Weber’s group will be holding a “Black Friday” adoption drive today for black cats.
