LAWMAKERS WAIT TO SEND BILL TO OBAMA

Republicans had planned a triumphant signing ceremony at the Capitol today for the bill to authorize the Keystone XL pipeline. Yet GOP leaders are now expected to wait to send the bill to President Barack Obama until after lawmakers return from their recess this month. That way, when Obama vetoes the bill, Republicans will be on hand to blast him for nixing a project they say will spur jobs and economic growth.
