Attorney urges jury to spare Arias’ life

A defense lawyer displayed happy images of Jodi Arias on Tuesday as he tried to garner sympathy from a jury deciding whether to send the convicted murderer to prison or death row. Kirk Nurmi urged jurors to spare her life. He showed jurors photos from her life, including images of victim Travis Alexander. He reiterated that she has borderline personalit­y disorder and suffered physical and emotional abuse from her parents and Alexander — claims that have not been proven. a bank after they say he stopped for coffee a block away. Police say a man approached a teller at the Hudson City Savings Bank in Lodi on Monday, placed a BB gun on the counter and demanded money. The man fled with $4,000. Maywood Police Chief David Pegg said an officer spotted a man matching the descriptio­n of the suspect drinking coffee near the entrance of a nearby Dunkin Donuts. Pegg said that as officers talked with the man, they discovered the gun and the cash.
