Davis upsets No. 1 seed Bouchard
American Lauren Davis beat top-seeded Eugenie Bouchard 6-3, 6-1 at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston, S.C., a short time after No. 2 seed Ekaterina Makarova withdrew with a stomach illness. Davis, 21, had lost the only career meeting with the world’s seventh-ranked player.
■ Second-seeded Alize Cornet beat Polona Hercog 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 to make the quarterfinals of the Katowice Open in Poland.

The suspect, Shezoy Bleary, was in custody, authorities said. Police said charges were pending. The victims were hospitalized and in stable condition, police said. Antic and Sefolosha were arrested after police said they blocked officers from trying to start their investigation. ■ Suns: Twins Marcus and Markieff Morris are being investigated on allegations that they beat an acquaintance outside a Phoenix sports complex in January, authorities said.
