Young African leaders meet at Clark Atlanta

Participan­ts in President Barack Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders in Business and Entreprene­urship meet with former U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young during a session at Clark Atlanta University on Thursday. The Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) is a U.S. Department of State program. CAU’s 25 YALI fellows, 12 females and 13 males, spent six weeks at Clark Atlanta engaged in business and entreprene­urship coursework, complement­ed by an integrated program of leadership training, peer collaborat­ion, experienti­al learning opportunit­ies and community activities. The 25 leaders represent 17 nations, including Botswana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
