Construction of workout facility behind schedule

GSU’s strength-and-conditioning facility for football won’t open by its target date of Aug. 1.

Construction was delayed because of the need to redesign the underground drainage system as well as hitting the foundation of a previous building.

The workout equipment has been ordered and will be installed as soon as the building is complete, which a spokesman for the athletic department said should be within a few weeks.

The 7,000-square-foot building is projected to cost $600,000, with equipment costing another $300,000.
