Article provides details of Hardy assault case,

-

One day after the assault case against Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy was expunged, Deadspin on Friday presented some of the findings to the court of public opinion.

Among the items revealed in the Deadspin article were 48 graphic photos of Hardy’s ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder showing bruises and abrasions on her back, legs, foot, arms, neck and chin suffered in an incident in Charlotte, N.C., a year and a half ago. Police records and other material detailing the case that got the NFL defensive standout arrested were also presented.

Cowboys officials declined to comment on the article Friday. Hardy also declined to talk to reporters.

Sources told The Dallas Morning News that the photos Deadspin published Friday were not made available to the Cowboys before he signed with the club. The NFL had access to those photos and others before issuing a four-game suspension in April. But sources said Cowboys officials were not allowed to view the photos, several of which were under a protective order.

However, sources said the Cowboys were aware of the photos and had an understanding of what they showed.

Hardy, who was found guilty of communicating threats and assault in a bench trial, had that result expunged from his record this week.

Titans: Quarterback Marcus Mariota will return to the starting lineup Sunday to face the Saints. Mariota, who is officially listed as probable, has missed the Titans’ past two games with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

Browns: Johnny Manziel’s prime-time TV performance didn’t earn him a full-time gig. At least not yet. Coach Mike Pettine said he’ll wait until next week before deciding on whether to stick with Manziel as his starting quarterback.

Giants: Will decide today whether to activate defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (hand) for Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay. Coach Tom Coughlin said everything is positive at this point for PierrePaul, but the medical staff wants to look at him one more time before clearing him to play.

Bills: Receiver Sammy Watkins said he’s set to return from an ankle injury and play against the Dolphins. Watkins is listed as questionable and didn’t practice Friday.

Eagles: Left tackle Jason Peters (back) and inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans (hamstring) are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. If Peters (back) cannot play, right tackle Lane Johnson would switch to the left side and backup Dennis Kelly would start at right tackle.

Jets: Center Nick Mangold is probable to play against the Jaguars after missing one game with a neck injury. Safety Calvin Pryor (ankle) is out and wide receiver Brandon Marshall (ankle/toe) is questionable.

Vikings: Middle linebacker Eric Kendricks will miss the game against St. Louis on Sunday because of a rib injury.

Late Thursday

Bengals 31, Browns 10: Three touchdown catches on three different routes. Tight end Tyler Eifert got a lot of attention with his latest impressive game. So did the rest of his team.

Eifert caught three touchdown passes from Andy Dalton leading the unbeaten Bengals to a victory over Johnny Manziel and the Browns that put Cincinnati in totally new territory at 8-0 for the first time.

Cleveland (2-7) has lost six of seven.
