Hattie B’s opening in Atlanta
Hattie B’s, the famed Nashville hot chicken restaurant that serves sandwiches, plates, Southern sides and local beer in a casual, counter-service setup, will debut a new Atlanta location next year, according to several sources. Look for the buildout to begin soon across from the Wrecking Bar on Moreland Avenue, at the edges of Little Five Points and Inman Park, with an opening date set for early fall 2017. hattieb.com.
Chef Matt Weinstein moves up
Concentrics Restaurants group announced Matt Weinstein as the new executive chef at One Midtown Kitchen. Weinstein was recently named to Zagat’s “30 under 30” list, an accolade that recognizes “gastronomic game changers.” Weinstein had been cochef at One Midtown with Christopher Maher, who will be the new executive chef at a soon-to-be-announced Concentrics concept in Atlanta. 559 Dutch Valley Road N.E., Atlanta. 404-892-4111, onemidtownkitchen.com.
SweetWater’s Woodlands Project
The Woodlands Project, a new barrel-aging and sour beer program that’s housed in a sleek new two-story brick building at Atlanta’s SweetWater Brewing Co., will open to the public for tours and tastings beginning Jan. 6, offering limited edition and brewery only selections. Famous Pub in Toco Hills closing
After 30 years in business, Famous Pub in Toco Hills is closing later this month, according to an announcement on its Facebook page. The longtime neighborhood dive and sports bar located in the Toco Hills Promenade on North Druid Hills Road posted that “We will have Blow out parties on 17th and 18th of December and you all are invited!” 2947 N.
