MARTA to hold open houses about transit
The Clayton County Transit Initiative will hold open houses in February for residents to provide input on MARTA’s goals and objectives, potential transit corridors and to learn more about high-capacity transit options. The meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 2 at Forest Park Community Center, 696 Main St. in Forest Park, and 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Frank Bailey Senior Center, 6213 Riverdale Road, Riverdale.
MARTA is working on a highcapacity transit initiative study, expected to be completed in 2018. Among the community needs and the project’s purpose are to: improve mobility, accessibility and connectivity to the Atlanta region; provide greater access to jobs and services; reduce traffic congestion; provide environmental benefits and sustainable solutions; encourage transit-supportive land uses; and support an economic development initiative.
