Virtual reality film: The short, virtual reality film “Surviving Syria” will depict the life of a young boy and his family who now live as refugees. Beer and conversati­on: During Growlers + God Talk, the Rev. Scholarshi­p fundraiser: A scholarshi­p fundraiser for college-bound students from Atlanta will be held from 7-11 p.m. Feb. 25 at Georgia Freight Depot (65 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive S.W., Atlanta). Hosted by Hillside Internatio­nal Truth Center Inc., the fundraiser will feature music by Howard Hewett, R&B singer and former member of the band Shalamar. A balloon-pop for prizes and a photo bar will round out the evening’s fun, and former scholarshi­p recipient and Atlanta entertaine­r Chandri Morton along with the 911 Band will keep the music going all night.
