Q: Is Nydia Tisdale still being prosecuted by Dawson County? —Don Penovi, Atlanta

A: The citizen journalist’s criminal case is still active. Tisdale was charged with one felony and two misdemeano­rs after her August 2014 arrest at a political rally in Dawsonvill­e.

“A calendar call is scheduled on April 9 to schedule a trial date — contingent on the ruling from the judge,” Tisdale told Q&A on the News in an email.

She said she learned Tuesday that a pre-trial hearing that was scheduled for April 11 in Dawsonvill­e had been canceled.

“Judge Bonnie C. Oliver will issue her ruling in writing,” she wrote.

Q: Margaret Truman had four sons. Are they still alive? —Jean Higgins, Atlanta

A: Three of former President Harry S. Truman’s grandsons are living, Sam Rushay, supervisor­y archivist with the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum in Independen­ce, Missouri, told Q&A on the News.

Margaret Truman, the president’s daughter, married E. Clifton Daniel Jr., a former New York Times managing editor, in 1956. They had four sons: Clifton Truman Daniel, William Wallace Daniel, Harrison Gates Daniel and Thomas Washington Daniel. William Wallace Daniel died in September 2000 when he was struck by a cab in New York City, the New York Times reported.

Clifton Truman Daniel, the oldest grandson, is author of “Growing Up With My Grandfathe­r: Memories of Harry S. Truman” and “Dear Harry, Love Bess: Bess Truman’s Letters to Harry Truman, 1919-1943.” He is honorary chairman of the board of the Truman Library Institute, the nonprofit partner of the Truman Library.
