Meetings set on Rogers Bridge restoration
The restoration of the Rogers Bridge — now a spindly frame across the Chattahoochee River, but to be restored to carry pedestrians and bicyclists between Johns Creek and Duluth — is the subject of public information meetings in the two cities later this month.
The first meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. March 28 at Johns Creek City Hall, 12000 Findley Road. It is an open house, and while no formal presentation is planned, city staff from Johns Creek and Duluth as well as design consultants will be on hand answer questions and take public comments.

Planners approve 2 residential rezonings
The Forsyth County Planning Commission recommended approval for a few residential rezonings recently, but narrowly recommended denial in connection with a third.
Commissioners approved the Tallant family’s limited partnership’s request to rezone property into a master planned district for 57 residential lots on just over 20 acres and proposed commercial buildings totaling 36,000 square feet. The residential density would be 2.8 units per acre for property along Dahlonega Highway.
Commissioners also recommended approval of Sherry and Randall Fields request to rezone nearly 32 acres to single-family residential to accommodate 49 residential units with a 1.54 unit-peracre density. The proposed development would locate north of Roper Road near Dishroom Road.
Commissioners voted 3-2 to deny proposed rezoning into the master planned district category roughly 4 acres on Fairway Lane that’s associated with a 320-unit
