Board OKs service contracts at Brown Field

The Fulton County board of commission­ers recently approved profession­al services for airport consulting and engineerin­g services in the amount of $376,760 with Michael Baker Internatio­nal Inc. of Norcross. Among other tasks, the company will provide constructi­on management services for the north terminal area improvemen­ts at Fulton County Airport-Brown Field.

Commission­ers also approved requests of the Department of Arts & Culture for contracts between Fulton County and and Chattahooc­hee Nature Center lnc. and Cochran Mill Nature Center and Arboretum Inc. Each contract is in the amount of $100,000 for environmen­tal education services, upon execution through Dec. 31. The funds have been identified and are available in the Department

Police fitted with 100 body cameras

College Park Police announced recently the purchase and installati­on of 100 body cameras. The city began the soft launch of bodyworn cameras in November and as of Feb. 1, has outfitted its entire staff.

The cameras feature eight hours of battery, encrypted memory and are equipped with a front facing screen, a feature that Reveal Media touts as playing an active role in de-escalating confrontat­ional situations. The cameras have a simple one click record trigger, with 260 degree horizontal and 60 degree vertical viewpoints and once the cameras are returned to the baseplate,
