Crawford and Company, an insurance firm with clients in more than 70 countries, is moving its global headquarters to Gwinnett County.

The firm, currently based just inside I-285 near Perimeter Center, will bring about 500 jobs and a $15 million investment to its new home in the city of Peachtree Corners, officials said.

“We are excited to bring Crawford and Company to Gwinnett County,” president and CEO Harsha V. Agadi said. “This relocation will allow us to continue our expansion, while also bringing investment and competencies to the local business community, further contributing to the great economic climate found in Gwinnett.”

Crawford bills itself as “the world’s largest publicly listed independent provider of claims management solutions to insurance companies and self-insured entities.” News of the company’s relocation to Gwinnett comes a month after paper and packaging giant WestRock announced it would be vacating its long-time home in Norcross and taking 800 jobs to the Sandy Springs area.

Technology giant NCR is also in the process of leaving Gwinnett for Midtown Atlanta.

Crawford’s new location will be at 5335 Triangle Parkway. The company plans $15 million in capital investment over the next three years, officials said.

In an emailed statement, Gwinnett Board Chairman Charlotte Nash said she was “thrilled.”

”This location will add to the strong economic vitality of our community through new job opportunities, the company’s strong global presence and their admired quality services,” she said.
