City hosts fifth town hall meeting Tuesday

The Governor’s Commission on the City of South Fulton, will hold its fifth town hall meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday, at The Fulton County South Fulton Service Center, 5600 Stonewall Tell Road, College Park. The meeting is open to the public and will begin with the introducti­on of Commission Members followed by a formal discussion on the status of the Transition Process.

“We encourage citizens to come out and hear about the process in which the Commission prepares for the establishm­ent of the City of South Fulton,” said Camilla Moore, Chair of the Commission. The Commission will provide and update on the status of critical areas: pending intergover­nmental agreements, franchise fees, tax anticipati­on note, etc.

Constructi­on continues at county schools

Classes are on hiatus during spring break this week, but a variety of constructi­on projects at Fayette County schools have either been completed or are progressin­g steadily.

Mike Satterfiel­d, facilities director for the school system, told the Board of Education in late March that the new gyms at North Fayette and Peachtree City elementary schools “turned out real well,” and the new media center and classrooms at Peachtree City are in progress.
