Dogwood Drive upgrade project continues
Drainage, sidewalks, paving and lighting are among the improvements the city of Hapeville is making to the Dogwood Drive corridor through most of April, weather permitting.
The work in progress on the Dogwood Drive Streetscape project includes surveyor layout, sawcutting, erosion control, and other improvements, the city said. The project is expected to improve gateways into the city. It will also help get Hapeville’s plans to build an arts overlay district underway as well as attract more tourism, according to information in a city council meeting agenda item last fall.
The project’s federal award amount is $ 1.75 million. The local share is about $440,462.49. Triscapes Inc. was the low bidder at $ 2.11 million. The total estimated cost, including construction, administration. oversight and material testing services is $ 2.19 million.
