Administra­tion building security enhanced

The Henry County Administra­tive Building will be adding improved security cameras around entrances and exits for maximum security after a vote at the April 4 meeting of the Henry County Board of Commission­ers.

There is an existing security system in place, but technology services director Skip Floyd believes it is best to further the safety of the building and the employees. County officials said the security surveillan­ce cameras will cover several critical areas in and around the building that have not been covered with the existing system, including the Building Department, Planning and Zoning, hallways and traffic outside of the Administra­tive Building.

Assisted living center annexed into city limits

The Heritage of Peachtree assisted living center has been annexed into the Peachtree City limits.

The owners of the 3.5-acre property on Ga. Hwy. 54, on the city’s eastern edge, applied for annexation in 2014 and the Fayette County Board of Commission­ers voted last month not to object to the change. The final annexation and zoning request was approved 5-0 by the City Council on April 6, with the provision that no more curb cuts for access to the property would be installed on the highway.
