Atlanta police are searching for Tovoris Gordon, who is wanted in connection with the alleged rape of a woman near Booker T. Washington High School in southwest Atlanta in May 2015.

Gordon, who will turn 23 on June 19, “is believed to have family in the Atlanta area, but does not reside with them,” authorities said Wednesday in a post on Crime Stoppers’ Facebook page. “It is possible that he is homeless and still in Atlanta, although he has previously been arrested in New Mexico.”

The woman told investigators she was walking home along Beckwith Street about 4 a.m. May 11 and tried to pass a man in a red patterned shirt, according to an Atlanta police incident report.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman and violently threw her to the ground.

The victim was then “dragged off the road and toward the football field just behind Washington High school,” where she was raped, police said in the report.

The woman told police the suspect stole her cellphone and ran north toward a library.

They found a used condom in a large vehicle tire used for strength training and a condom wrapper that they collected as evidence, police said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
