Migos added to One MusicFest lineup

- MELISSA RUGGIERI

The ubiquitous Migos have joined the headlining tier at One MusicFest this fall.

The Atlanta rap trio will join previously announced performers Jill Scott, Yasiin Bey (in what is being called his final performance), Sean Paul and many others at Lakewood Amphitheatre during the Sept. 9 event.

Migos has been part of Future’s “Nobody Safe” tour, but didn’t play the hometown show with the rapper in May; instead, Quavo, Takeoff and Offset popped up at the Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash earlier this month.

The “Bad and Boujee” hitmakers also made headlines at the BET Awards Sunday in Los Angeles – first for nearly coming to blows with rapper Joe Buddon during an interview and after the show, for allegedly getting involved in a confrontation with Chris Brown.

Migos won the Best Group and Best Collaboration trophies at the BET Awards.

The One MusicFest organizers also announced on Tuesday that Janelle Monae will be the recipient of the OMF Lighthouse Recipient award. Monae, who launched her career in Atlanta and performed at the festival in 2015, has recently been lighting up Hollywood with her well-received turns in “Moonlight” and “Hidden Figures.”

“We honor Janelle Monae with this year’s award as she has truly stood strong in her beliefs and developed a platform for others to shine,” said festival founder Jason Carter.

Tickets for One MusicFest are on sale now for $65-$155. Visit www.onemusicfest. com for details and www. livenation.com to purchase.
