Rose Bowl 2017: Best tailgates and parties

The much-anticipate­d 104th Rose Bowl game between the No.3 Georgia Bulldogs and No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners — a College Football Playoff Semifinal — is slated for New Year’s Day in Pasadena, California.

Crazed college football fans all over the country are expected to tune in at 5 p.m., and we’ve rounded up the top spots in Pasadena or in Atlanta to tailgate or catch the game that day with fellow fanatics.

If you’re headed to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena:

■ Official Bulldogs Pre-Game Tailgate hosted by UGA Alumni Associatio­n

10 a.m.-1 p.m. PST. Brookside Golf Club, 1133 Rosemont Ave., Pasadena. 706-542-2251.

Registrati­on for those 21 years and older costs $150 and includes food, drinks, entertainm­ent and “Bulldog festivitie­s.” Tickets for ■ Rose Bowl FanFest hosted by the Rose Bowl

8 a.m.-1 p.m. PST. Brookside Golf Club, 1133 Rosemont Ave., Pasadena. 626-577-3100.

The FanFest event, also located at Brookside Golf Club, is free to attend and includes interactiv­e games, music, TVs. Food and drinks will be available to purchase.

■ Rose Bowl Tailgate Bash hosted by DAWG DAYS

9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Chandler School, 1005 Armada Dr., Pasadena.

This 21-and-up tailgate is a convenient, short walk from the southeast corner of the stadium. Tickets are $45 and include access to the lot, drinks, game-

If you’re staying in Atlanta:

■ Rose Bowl Game Watch Party hosted by UGA Alumni Associatio­n

4 p.m. Sports & Social, 825 Battery Ave., Atlanta. 770-675-9138.

The UGA Alumni Associatio­n’s Atlanta chapter is hosting a watch party at this restaurant located in the Battery. Aside from the 30-foot-television screen, the event will include games with chances to win $1,000 or tickets to the National Championsh­ip. Tables are first come, first serve.

■ 2017 Rose Bowl Indoor Tailgate Watch Party hosted by Lenox Avenue Band

4-9 p.m. Encore Hookah Bar and Bistro, 320 Luckie Street Northwest, Atlanta. 404-549-9602.

Georgia fans can enjoy $5 wings and $5 mixed drinks all day long and $15 hookahs before 5:30 p.m. No cover charge. Seating is first come, first serve.

■ Oklahoma Vs Georgia Rose Bowl Playoff Watch Party hosted by OU Club of Atlanta

Sooner fans on the hunt for a place to watch the game can head here, “the only place in town you will find yourself around lots of other Sooner fans.”

■ Athens Area Game Watching Party: Rose Bowl hosted by UGA Alumni Associatio­n

Doors open for UGA alumni at 2:30 p.m. and for the public at 3 p.m. Live Wire Athens, 227 West Dougherty St., Athens. 706-542-2251.

Headed to the Classic City for the Rose Bowl? Catch the game with fellow fans and alumni on a 15-foot cinema screen, three additional screens, profession­al audio, a full bar and cornhole games. Admission is free for all ages. Table reservatio­ns for 8-10 guests cost $40. The event includes tailgate packages ($5 for kids and $15 for adults) and meals and drinks.
