Genesis G90 makes splash in the luxury community
In the vehicle manufacturing world, newer is better but not when it comes to name. A luxury car, like all finer things, must have a storied history and have surpassed keeping up with the Jones’s to a level of international envy and desire. For a vehicle to be luxurious, the name must be synonymous with style and sophistication for decades if not a century. However, in 2008, that antiquated way of thinking was turned on its head. With the first introduction of Hyundai’s luxury line, Genesis, a new luxury emerged.
After approximately a decade of innovation, the Genesis has evolved from a single luxury offering from the Korean automaker into its own brand ala Acura or Lexus. Now offering three distinct models with more on the way, the brand is expanding with hopes to become one of the premier luxury brands on the U.S. market.
Introduced in 2016, the Genesis G90 is a powerful model that doesn’t sacrifice power for styled sophistication. Offered with an assortment of engine and all-wheel drive options, the G90 is a vehicle that will ignite all five senses.
The goal of the G90 is safety, as the highest form of comfort is a peace of mind. Equipped with the lane keep assist and smart cruise control expected in a high end model, the G90 also offers Driver Attention Alert that can monitor your driving pattern and use audio and visual means to alert you and try to keep you focused. Additionally, Genesis Adaptive Control Suspension is built into the very bones of the G90 and can automatically correct steering control when driving over unstable conditions.
In the G90, every passenger is treated as well as the driver. With four zone climate control paired with rear and front seat memory to conform to the person’s seated positions, no one will need to fight for the front seat. Of course the driver does take precedent, and thanks to 22 way adjustable ergo seat design lauded by top back and spine specialists, driving won’t send you to the chiropractor.
Outside noise is a worry of the past with the G90. Featuring a double layer of soundproof glass on all doors and sound absorbing alloy wheels, the only thing you’ll hear during your drive is the SiruisXM channel of your choice blasting through 3-dimensional dynamic speakers.
The Genesis doesn’t just rest on its creature comfort laurels. A standard Lambda 3.3-liter twin turbo GDI V6 engine gives 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque while the optional TAU 5.0-liter GDI V8 engine ignites 420 horespower and 383 lb-ft of torque. No matter your trim, the G90 will pack a punch.
Focused on comfort, safety, and with the added benefit of a smooth and powerful drive, the all-new 2018 Genesis G90 is a vehicle that will have you begging to take it out.
