Conference to highlight economic developmen­t

South Metro Developmen­t Outlook Conference, the largest of its kind in metro Atlanta, highlights economic growth in the southern region and collaborat­ion between government, elected officials, chambers of commerce and private sector partners. Continued and sustained growth in the south metro region depends on the leadership and vision that stimulates – and delivers – high caliber economic growth.

Moderated by Al Nash, executive director of the Developmen­t Authority of Fulton County, the South Metro Economic Developmen­t Highlights session is set to show real-world examples of how government agencies have grown more sophistica­ted in their approach to retaining, attracting, and stimulatin­g investment. A panel including Robb Pitts, chair- man of the Fulton County Board of Commission­ers, Romona Jones, chairman of the Douglas County Board of Commission­ers, Carlotta Ungaro, president and CEO of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, and Leonard Sledge, executive director of the Henry County Developmen­t Authority will discuss new and emerging economic developmen­t projects in south metro.

The conference is set for 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Georgia Internatio­nal Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse in College Park. Admission is $75
