City to spend on cleanup, ADA ramp

The Powder Springs City Council agreed 5-0 March 19 to spend $111,677 to clean storm debris along city trails and in city parks, build an ADA ramp at City Hall, subscribe to computer services and stripe a road. Expenditur­es include:

■ almost $32,400 in contingenc­y funds to bid for the removal of fallen trees and limbs along the city’s trails and in the city’s parks because the city’s public grounds crew is still busy removing brush from the city’s roadsides due to the snow storms in December and January.

■ $27,600 in contingenc­y funds for a total project cost of nearly $50,128 to add handrails to the new access ramp into City Hall that must be relocated on the east side of the building.

■ $17,015 monthly, renewing informatio­n technology services and work orders provided by VC3, Inc.

■ $15,386 fo r VC3 Inc. to include a cloud-based subscripti­on of Office 365 as part of the city’s informatio­n technology environmen­t across multiple computers and devices.

■ $9,901 by KNINE AllSystems to install two accessible automatic doors to go with the installati­on of an accessible ramp at the side entrance of City Hall.

■ $9,375 by Peek Pavement Marking to provide striping services on Old Lost Mountain south of Richard D. Sailors Parkway.

Cobb County Egg Hunt. 10 a.m. Saturday. Free. Al Bishop Softball Complex, 1082 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta. Activities will include egg hunts, art activities, live entertainm­ent, inflatable­s, a hula-hoop contest, tug-of-war, musical chairs, food trucks and vendors.
