Shake Shack, Cold Beer coming to Beltline in ’19

Get ready for more high-profile projects along the Beltline.

Vantage Realty Partners announced the launch of a new multi-use project located on the stretch of the Eastside Trail between Edgewood and DeKalb avenues.

Set to open in spring 2019, the 28,000-square-foot project will be home to three new food and beverage concepts:

■Cold Beer. The restaurant a nd bar from chef Kevin Gillespie — who also owns Gunshow, Revival and Gamechanger under the umbrella of his Red Beard Restaurants — is described as the sister to Gunshow. Cold Beer will feature a beverage program from Mercedes O’Brien and a menu of shareable dishes, while the space will include a rooftop patio and two patios adjacent to the Beltline.

■Hazel Jane’s Wine & Coffee. A wine bar concept from Revelator, which owns several Atlanta cof- fee shops and recently purchased Octane, Hazel Jane’s will focus on natural and biodynamic wines. The wine and beverage program will operate under the direction of certified sommelier, Melissa Davis, currently of Staplehouse and previously of Cakes & Ale. The day-tonight location will feature a full-service kitchen, a coffee and espresso counter, a large central bar and a Beltline-adjacent patio and bottle shop.

■Shake Shack. The Beltline location of the popular burger chain — which has metro Atlanta locations in Buckhead and Dunwoody — will be designed by Smith Hanes using recycled and sustainable materials, booths made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and tabletops constructed from reclaimed bowling alley lanes. The menu will feature exclusive items in collaboration with local purveyors and proceeds from certain menu items will benefit local charity partners.

The project will be the first to use both sides of the Beltline and will offer space for rotating art installations featuring the work of local artists.

“The vision for this project is to join the Eastside and Memorial Drive sections of Atlanta’s Beltline while providing exciting new spaces for a city that has quickly become one of the most in-demand places for people and businesses from around the world,” Vantage Realty’s Gene Rice said in a prepared statement.

The project still has two retail spaces, one restaurant space and loft office space available.

Vantage has also worked on the Parsons Alley development in Duluth.

The development will join several new or announced eateries and bars along or near the Eastside Beltline, including New Realm Brewing, Bazati Hall and Estrella, Guac y Margys, Muchacho and Golden Eagle, Butter & Cream, The James Room, Lingering Shade and Nina + Rafi.
