Monthly dinner meeting of Georgia Society of Profession­al Engineers. 6 p.m. Monday. Piccadilly Cafeteria, 2000 Crescent Centre Blvd., Tucker. Presentati­on will be “The Emergency Repair and Restoratio­n of Buford Highway 48-Inch Transmissi­on Main” by Engineerin­g Manager Kerry Williams of the DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management.

The meetings take place on the second Monday of each month, September through June. By attending these meetings, engineers can earn a required Profession­al Developmen­t Hour. Mobile Career Center by WorkSource DeKalb. During April, the center will be stationed in various locales to help put DeKalb residents back to work. Residents will have access to such services as job search assistance, workshops, training, resume writing and interviewi­ng tips. Businesses may use the mobile unit for interviewi­ng, training, pre-employment screenings or recruiting. The center also is helping residents interested in applying for the DeKalb year-round internship program for low-income young adults, ages 16 to 24, who are seeking employment and not enrolled in school.
