Hosted by the Gathering 4 Gardner Foundation, this 13th biennial event—dedicated to preserving the legacy of writer and polymath Martin Gardner for popularizing recreational mathematics—will include free events open to the public, in downtown Decatur and around Atlanta, from April 11-15. Spelman College Mathematics Professor Colm Mulcahy, vice president of Gathering 4 Gardner, said the lecturers will be “three of the world’s leaders in the interface of mathematics with puzzles, art and music.” Gathering4Gardner.org.

Professor ErnÅ‘ Rubik, famed Rubik’s Cube inventor, will make a very rare public speaking appearance with “In Conversation With ErnÅ‘ Rubik,” discussing design, architecture, curiosity and his four decades with the Cube.
