Early voting starts April 30 in Fulton County

Voters across Georgia will soon be able to cast early ballots for the May 22 general primary, nonpartisa­n and special elections.

Early voting begins April 30. The most prominent election will be for governor, as the Democrats and Republican­s have contested primaries to choose nominees to replace Gov. Nathan Deal.

The ballot also includes candidates for Congress, Georgia House and Senate and state races that include lieutenant governor and secretary of state. County commission seats and members of county boards of education are also on the ballot.

Early voting ends May 18. There is no early voting on Saturday, May 19, or Monday,

21. Runoff elections will be Tuesday, July 24.

In Fulton, each early voting location will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weekend voting polls will be open Saturdays, May 5 and 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 6, from noon to 5 p.m.

■ Northwest Branch at Scotts Crossing Library, 2489 Perry Boulevard NW

■ Ponce de Leon Library, 980 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE

■ Southeast Atlanta Library, 1463 Pryor Road SW

■ Southwest Arts Center, 915 New Hope Road SW
