Ranking student: Be best you can

Metro Atlanta high school seniors are turning their tassels this month, and the members of the class of 2018 are ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution will feature some of the region’s brighter students — class valedictorians — in the next weeks, and let them give us their parting words of advice. Some of the responses were edited for brevity.

Intended major: Finance What is the best advice you got about succeeding?

I ’m not too sure who advised me to do so, but I have always striven for success with the aim of achieving the best version of myself, not beating others.

What advice would you give to a freshman?

Explore various activities until you find your true interests and then honor your abilities in tho se interests, but also try to get involved in non-stereotypical things in order to differentiate yourself from those with similar demographics and qualifications.
