Adding Cousins gives Warriors 5 All-Stars

-

DeMarcus Cousins will finally get a chance to play for a winner once he’s healthy from a torn left Achilles tendon. When he returns, the big man will give the Golden State Warriors five 2018 AllStars in their starting lineup to chase another title — with Cousins trying for his first after never appearing in the playoffs. The center will sign with the two-time defending champs after the moratorium period is lifted Friday, a person with direct knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. Cousins is set to join a starting lineup of two-time MVP Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Cousins’ Pelicans lost to the Warriors in a five-game Western Conference semifinals while he was injured. He tore his Achilles in late January and underwent surgery.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Warriors would be the first team since Boston in 1975-76 to play five All-Stars from the previous season at the same time. That group was Jo Jo White, Charlie Scott, Dave Cowens, Paul Silas and John Havlicek.

Clippers: Avery Bradley is staying with the Clippers. He will sign a two-year contract after free agents can begin making deals official Friday, a person familiar with negotiations told The Associated Press. Yahoo Sports said the contract is worth $25 million.

Pacers: Tyreke Evans reportedly agreed to a oneyear deal worth $12 million for next season. Evans spent last year with Memphis, averaging 19.4 points per game.

Magic: Mo B am ba, the No .6 draft pick, signed his rookie deal. The former Texas Longhorn will earn about $5 million in his rookie season.

Wizards: Jeff Green reportedly agreed to a one-year contract for $2.4 million.

Nuggets: Agreed to a multiyear deal with rookie forward Michael Porter Jr.
