Some changes coming to Taste of Atlanta 2018
If the long lines at the new Hattie B’s in Atlanta have proved too interminable for you to wait, here’s a workaround — that is, if you’re willing to wait until October.
The hot chicken restaurant has signed on as one of about 100 restaurants for Taste of Atlanta 2018, a food, craft beer, wine and cock- tail festival held in the Historic Fourth Ward Park from Oct. 19-21. The 17th annual event will include new elements such as the Race for the Taste 5K Fun Run on Saturday, and on Sunday, the Atlanta Chef Pop-Up Area and “Brunch All Day,” a news release said.
Some of the participat- ing restaurants include Bareburger, Better Half, Bon Glaze, Char Korean Bar & Grill, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, Hawker’s Asian Street Fare, Public School 404, Ponko Chicken, Revo- lution Gelato, Seven Lamps, Simon’s Restaurant, SubZero Nitrogen Ice Cream, Tropics Jerk Center, True Food Kitchen, Waffle House, Wagaya Japanese Restaurant, Who’s Got Soul Southern Cafe and Woody’s Cheesesteaks.
Tickets to Friday’s Kickoff Party are $65 through Aug. 1 before increasing to $85. General admission tickets cost $25 and include 10 Taste Points — which go toward drink, merchandise and food sample purchases — pre-loaded on an RFID wristband.
Saturday VIP tickets cost $75; Sunday VIP tickets are $65 through Aug. 1 before increasing to $75. All VIP tickets include 20 Taste Points and a commemorative drinking glass.
From now through Aug. 1, an extra five Taste Points will be added to wristbands for both general admission and VIP ticket purchases. Additional points can be purchased for $1 each online or at Taste Point tents located throughout the festival.
