Marietta Square food hall opening pushed to January
The Marietta Square’s answer to hip, ITP food halls won’t open until January 2019, its developer has announced.
That’s 10 months later than the March 31 estimated completion date given to the city when this was announced in March 2017.
In Aprilof this year, Concordia Properties pushed the opening back to this fall.
“Strong demand for space has provided us with an opportunity to open the market fully leased,” said Concordia’s Rich Dippolito in a statement given to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Wednesday.
The statement also came with news that the project has gotten its 14th (and first non-food) tenant, Glory Haus. The Marietta company sells home decor and gifts. That leaves five unfilled spots. The 18,000-square-foot mixeduse complex will be inside the historic Marietta Station buildings at 68 N. Marietta Parkway NW.
e food hall will evoke Marietta Station’s railroad history, which dates to 1892. One of the vendors is set to be inside a restored 1922 curved side streetcar made to look like ones that ran from Marietta to Atlanta in the 1930s and ’40s.
Speaking of transportation, a spokeswoman said Wednesday that there have been no changes to the 363-spot parking plan developers presented the city when it was first announced. Here’s the current line-up:
■ Forno: wood-fired pizza spot with a bar
■ Bread + Butter Bakery: bakery and coffee
■ Grand Champion BBQ: barbecue
■ Lucky’s Burger & Brew: burgers, wings, salads, shakes
■ Meat in the Middle: “Southern sandwiches and sides”
■ Momo Son Ramen: ramen
■ Pita Mediterranean: Mediterranean food
■ Street Taco: taqueria
■ Tandoori Square: Indian street food
■ Tiny Bubbles Tea Bar: bubble tea
■ Top Poke: Korean fast-casual eatery
■ Crème de la Crepe: crepes and French fare
■ Shai-Karr: Thai street food
■ Glory Haus: Home decor and gifts
