MUSIC PICKS

- BY MELISSA RUGGIERI

TODAY Twenty One Pilots

The duo of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun took a well-earned respite after the massive success of 2015’s “Blurryface.” Their latest album, “Trench,” has returned them to the airwaves with “Jumpsuit” and “My Blood,” and this companion tour will keep them on the road rather steadily through summer.

SATURDAY Vince Gill

He’s been busy as an extra voice and body on the road with the Eagles, but now it’s time for Gill’s formidable catalog to get the spotlight. The British musician released a self-titled album last year – his 21st – and garnered raves for its psychedelic rock leanings. Hitchcock himself described his current music as an “ecstatic work of negativity with nary a dreary groove.”

The ZZ Top veteran is momentarily breaking from his longtime bandmates to champion his solo album, “The Big Bad Blues,” with a band including Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, guitarist Austin Hanks, and D J and harmonica player Elwood Francis. Gibbons penned most of the songs, but the album also includes favorites from Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley.

Yes, this will be the fourth time in five years that the previously tour-averse pop genius is visiting Atlanta. But he’s Brian Wilson, so experience him live as often as possible while you can. Wilson will perform a string of his greatest hits, as well as songs from the storied “Pet Sounds” album.
