RaceTrac asks change to zon­ing re­quire­ment

In on­go­ing ef­forts to bring a RaceTrac to Braselton, the or­ga­ni­za­tion will re­quest a con­di­tional-use per­mit and zon­ing changes to al­low for con­struc­tion of a con­ve­nience store/gas sta­tion at the south­west cor­ner of the Thomp­son Mill Road/State Route 211 in­ter­sec­tion. The prop­erty is cur­rently zoned for a planned unit de­vel­op­ment. RaceTrac is ask­ing to re­move the con­di­tion re­quir­ing build­ings to be two-story or use a false two-story fa­cade..

The Braselton Plan­ning Com­mis­sion will hold a pub­lic hear­ing on the re­quest at 7 p.m. Nov. 26 at Braselton Po­lice and Mu­nic­i­pal Court Build­ing, 5040 S.R. 53. Braselton’s mayor and Town Coun­cil will hold a pub­lic hear­ing on the same re­quest at 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at the same lo­ca­tion.
