City hosts public safety meetings
City of South Fulton Mayor William “Bill” Edwards will host a Town Hall Public Safety Meeting 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 at Friendship Community Church, 4141 Old Fairburn Road, College Park, according to a press release.
The meeting will serve as the first in a series of town halls focused on public safety and community engagement.
During the Town Hall, Councilwoman Helen Willis will introduce the City’s Human Trafficking initiative.
“With the city of South Fulton being the largest of the eight cities in the South Fulton region and having all major interstates in its proximity, it is important to be in the forefront of this signifi- cant issue that is plaguing metro Atlanta,” said Willis. “We are asking the community and businesses to work together with our police department to combat this issue and assist anyone they suspect of being a victim of human trafficking by encouraging them to seek help via the Georgia Hotline for Domestic Minor Trafficking (844842-3678).”
The meeting will also feature City of South Fulton Police Chief Keith Meadows, who will introduce the city’s vision and plan to fight crime. In addition, the Drug Enforcement Administration will provide drug disposal bins on site to collect any unused or expired prescription medicines.
