New com­mis­sioner to take of­fice on Dec. 17

A swear­ing-in cer­e­mony has been set for in­com­ing Cobb County Dis­trict 1 Com­mis­sioner Keli A. Gam­brill, rep­re­sent­ing West and North­west Cobb.

The newly elected com­mis­sioner will be sworn in at 4 p.m. Dec. 17.

Gam­brill will take the oath of of­fice from Pro­bate Judge Kelli Wolk in the Cobb County Su­pe­rior Court Cer­e­mo­nial Court­room, sec­ond floor, Ju­di­cial Build­ing, 70 Haynes St., Ma­ri­etta.

An ac­coun­tant, Gam­brill de­scribes her­self as “a home­own­ers’ ad­vo­cate” for 13 years.

She will re­place Com­mis­sioner Bob Weather­ford who pre­vi­ously served for 12years as an Ac­worth al­der­man.

In the July 24 Repub­li­can runoff, Gam­brill re­ceived 57.94 per­cent to Weather­ford’s 42.06 per­cent.
