1 Brown detained: U.S. singer Chris Brown, 29, and two other people are in custody in Paris after a woman filed a rape complaint, French officials said Tuesday. The Grammy Award-winning singer was detained on potential charges of aggravated rape and drug infraction­s and remained in custody, a judicial official said.

2 Taliban attack: Afghan officials confirmed Tuesday that dozens of victims killed the previous day in a brazen Taliban attack on a military base not far from Kabul were members of the country’s intelligen­ce agency — a severe blow to the government, which has already lost control of nearly half of Afghanista­n to insurgents.

Google expands: American tech 4 giant Google opened a new office in Berlin that it says will give it the space to expand in the German capital. The move means Google could more than double the number of Berlin employees to 300. Google currently has 1,400 employees in Germany.

5 Ad rejected: CBS rejected a proposed 30-second Super Bowl LIII ad touting the benefits of medical marijuana, according to Acreage Holdings, the U.S. -based cannabis firm that recently added former House Speaker John Boehner to its board of directors.

The ad would have advocated medical marijuana’s potential to alleviate pain and would not have promoted Acreage products.
