Pair of wide receivers bringing more depth

-

For Georgia fans who were worried about depth at wide receiver for this season, last week was a game-changer.

On Friday evening, Miami grad Lawrence Cager announced on Twitter that he was transferring to UGA. Earlier in the week, longtime Auburn 5-star commit George Pickens flipped to the Bulldogs on Wednesday’s signing day.

Cager is a 6-foot-5, 220-pounder who was Miami’s second-leading receiver this past season, while also catching a teamhigh six touchdown passes. He made 18 career starts for the Hurricanes, and he’ll be eligible to play immediately at Georgia.

Cager’s tremendous size gives the Bulldogs a major weapon in the red zone. He also provides some muchneeded depth, as junior receivers Mecole Hardman and Riley Ridley departed early for this year’s NFL draft.

This was the second commitment from a graduate transfer last week for UGA. On Thursday, Tennessee tight end Eli Wolf announced he was headed to the Bulldogs.
