The de­bate over the bor­der wall and the govern­ment shut­down is a di­vi­sive is­sue. On one side are those who think that spend­ing $5.7 bil­lion to build a wall along the U.S.-Mex­ico bor­der would be ex­pen­sive and in­ef­fec­tive. On the other are those who be­lieve the U.S. must se­cure its bor­ders and main­tain that build­ing a wall is an im­por­tant govern­ment pri­or­ity. We take great care with these types of sto­ries and have tried to rep­re­sent mul­ti­ple points of view in our on-go­ing shut­down cov­er­age.
