PIRATES-REDS BRAWL: Major League Baseball is reviewing video of the latest fight between the Pirates and Reds, with Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle expecting suspensions on both sides. Reds manager David Bell faces a significant suspension for running onto the field and going after Hurdle in the ninth inning of Pittsburgh’s 11-4 win Tuesday. Bell already had been ejected from the game. There were numerous confrontations in the game, which turned into a fight in the ninth when Reds reliever Amir Garrett charged Pittsburgh’s dugout. Four from each team were ejected.

YANKEES: Placed slugger Luke Voit on the 10-day injured list with a sports hernia. Manager Aaron Boone said the team is still evaluating the severity. The Yankees expect to determine in the next day or two whether Voit will require surgery, which would take him out of the lineup for about six weeks. If he doesn’t need an operation, Boone said it will be a “day to day scenario.”

PIRATES: A post All-Star game swoon dropped Pittsburgh from contention in the NL Central, but the free fall wasn’t far enough for the team to part with two-time All-Star closer Felipe Vazquez. Pittsburgh opted to hold on to him at Wednesday’s trade deadline, a decision GM Neal Huntington offered as proof of the club’s confidence that it can rebound in 2020 and beyond.

DODGERS: RHP Dylan Floro was activated from the injured list after missing 10 games with neck inflammation. RHP Tony Gonsolin, who pitched four innings on Tuesday for his first career save, was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma.

BLUE JAYS: Placed LHP Ryan Borucki (0-1, 10.80 ERA) on the 10-day injured list with inflammation of the left elbow. His roster spot was filled by LHP Buddy Boshers, called up from Triple-A Buffalo.
