1 BRAVES:

The Braves announced their minor league players and pitchers of the year, headlined by Ian Anderson, the organizati­onal pitcher of the year. The Braves recognized a player and pitcher from each affiliate, with OF Trey Harris earning overall position player of the year.

Anderson, 21, posted a 3.38 ERA with 172 strikeouts across Double-A and Triple-A. He was a Southern League All-Star and struck out 147 over 111 innings before his Triple-A promotion. Anderson is expected to make his major league debut next season.

Harris, 23, hit .323/.389/.498 with 14 homers, 73 RBIs and 73 runs scored across three levels (131 games).

In Double-A, OFs Cristian Pache and Drew Waters were honored as co-players of the year. Pache, one of the minors’ best defensive outfielder­s, hit a career-high 11 homers with 47 extra-base hits in 104 games. Waters was named MVP of the Southern League, hitting a league-best .319. The co-pitchers of the year were Anderson and Tucker Davidson (2.03 ERA, 122:45 strikeout-towalk ratio across 21 starts before a promotion to Triple-A).

OF Rafael Ortega won Triple-A Gwinnett’s player of the year (21 HRs, 58 extra-base hits). Bryse Wilson is Gwinnett’s pitcher of the year (118 Ks in 121 innings). The other players of the year: Florida: OF Trey Harris, LH Hayden Deal; Rome: OF Justin Dean, LH Dilmer Mejia; Danville: 1B Bryce Ball, RH Ricky DeVito; Gulf Coast: OF Michael Harris II, RH Eudi Asencio; DSL: OF Deivi Estrada, RH Roddery Munoz.

2 NATIONALS:

With 101 RBIs, Juan Soto is the sixth to reach 100 before his 21st birthday and the first since Alex Rodriguez in 1996.

Bryce Harper was still out of the starting lineup with an injured right hand Sunday but drew a bases-loaded walk as a pinch-hitter. He hadn’t played since being hit by a fastball Friday.
