■ Northside Hospital Cancer Institute’s Smoking/Tobacco Cessation Classes. Six weeks beginning today to Oct. 15 and Nov. 12 to Dec. 17. Led by certified facilitato­rs from the American Lung Associatio­n, these classes are designed to educate participan­ts about the hazards of smoking and using tobacco products, the benefits of quitting and the strategies and skills to cope with urges. Behavioral therapists, nutritioni­sts and respirator­y therapists will provide support and guidance. Participan­ts will receive nicotine replacemen­t therapy (if qualified) and a hard copy curriculum with a meditation CD. Afternoon classes are available at all three Northside Hospital campuses in Atlanta, Canton and Cumming, with evening classes also available in Atlanta and Cumming. Lunch or dinner is provided.
