DDREA, a unit of the Georgia Retired Educators Associatio­n, is actively recruiting retired educators. DDREA meets on the third Thursday of each month, September through May. ■ DeKalb County Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run/ Walk. 9 a.m. Oct. 19. $10 for DeKalb County employees, $20 for nonemploye­es. Northlake Mall, 4800 Briarcliff Road NE, Tucker. Hosts will be DeKalb County Government, Susan G. Komen and Northlake Mall. The route begins and ends at the mall and also features a onemile fun run/walk. Registrati­on includes access to run/walk activities and an event T-shirt. All proceeds from the 5K run/ walk will go to fund Susan G. Komen programmin­g initiative­s in DeKalb County.
