Asante Das, a senior wide receiver at Allatoona, set a Cobb County record for receiving yards in a game (294) and school records for receiving touchdowns

(five) and longest reception (93 yards) Friday in a 38-21 Region 6-AAAAAAA victory against Sprayberry.

Das caught all six of Alla- toona’s completed passes.

“Dante Marshall, the quarterback, is a good friend of his, and they’ve been playing together since middle school and have a good chemistry,” Allatoona coach Gary Varner said. “They went manto-man on him a lot to stop the running game, and he took advantage.”

Das has 18 receptions for 619 yards and eight touch- downs this season despite missing one of Allatoona’s five games. Allatoona is primarily a running team, averaging just 13 passing attempts per game. Das has more than half of his team’s receptions and eight of the 10 TD catches.
