1 COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Lamical Perine scored on a 61-yard run in the opening minute and totaled 181 yards rushing and receiving with three TDs as No. 9 Florida beat Virginia 36-28 in Miami Gardens, Fla., late Monday. Also Monday, Micale Cunningham threw for 279 yards and two TDs and ran for 81 more, and Louisville beat Mississipp­i State 38-28 for a Music City Bowl win in Nashville. And in the Redbox Bowl, Chase Garbers threw four TD passes and ran for another score as California beat Illinois 35-20 in Santa Clara, Calif.

2 COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Georgia Southern’s Ike Smith was named Sun Belt Conference men’s Player of the Week. The redshirt senior guard helped pace the Eagles (8-5, 2-0 SBC) in a 73-64 loss at Georgia on Dec. 23 with 25 points and six rebounds, making five 3-pointers.

3 COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Filip Petrusev scored 22 points as No. 1 Gonzaga (14-1) finished its nonconfere­nce schedule with a 93-72 win Monday night over visiting Detroit Mercy.

4 COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Former Utah State coach and Athletic Director LaDell Andersen died Sunday at age 90, the school said. Andersen also coached at BYU. Andersen lived in St. George, Utah. He coached Utah State to two Sweet 16s and an Elite Eight appearance.

5 PRO FOOTBALL: Guard Richie Incognito will stay with the Raiders after their move to Las Vegas. Incognito signed a two-year, $14 million contract extension that includes $6.35 million in guaranteed money. The Raiders signed Incognito last offseason to a one-year, prove-it deal to bring him out of retirement.
