Buyer’s Edge Where can I find it?

- By Sabine Morrow

I love your column and read it weekly. Now, I need to ask for your assistance. I can’t find an ingredient that I use in a recipe for my grandson’s favorite dish whenever he’s home on leave from the Coast Guard. It’s frozen rhubarb. I will drive within the Atlanta metro area to purchase a half dozen or so packages. Thanks in advance for your assistance! — Barbara Ribner, Decatur

Thank you so much for reading, Barbara. I had to look at quite a few places before I found frozen rhubarb, so I think you’re wise to stock up. Currently, you’ll find plenty of Dole frozen chopped rhubarb at Publix, 4422 Hugh Howell Road, Tucker, 770-6213180. A 16-ounce bag costs $3.49. These are Non-GMO.

Where can I find a folding bungee chair? This is a portable chair that folds out round and has sort of a springy, bungee netting to sit on. I’ve seen them where the whole seat and back is netting, but I want to find one with a solid pad on the seat. I think that would be more comfortable and practical for me. I don’t care about the color. I just want to make sure it has the solid seat. I hope you can find this in town for me. — Mike

Mike, I found a folding bungee chair that sounds similar to the one you described, and it has the solid pad on the seat area. Made by Zenithen Limited, the circular folding chair features a steel frame and denim-blue fabric. You can take a look at it online at truevalue.com and have it shipped to a True Value hardware store near you at no extra charge. The chair costs $37.99. This chair isn’t recommended for small children, who don’t weigh enough to keep the seat in a safe sitting position.

I try not to buy food items from China. It’s not usually a problem except when I’m looking for mushrooms in a jar (and often canned mandarin oranges for salads). I prefer mushrooms in glass jars over cans whenever possible. I had some from Poland several months ago, but I can no longer find them. I’m afraid that I’m not sure exactly where I bought them. I would like to buy these again around Decatur if that’s possible. Thank you. — Mel Patterson, email

Pampa offers its brand of mushrooms in jars from Poland and, interestingly enough, Holland. Pampa sits under the umbrella of Florida-based Transnational Foods, which offers private labels to various supermarkets, dollar stores, convenience stores and wholesalers. Pampa mushrooms are available at Dollar Tree stores, with some locations stocking those from Poland and others from Holland. You’ll find 10-ounce jars of Pampa mushroom pieces and stems from Poland for $1 each at Dollar Tree, 630 East Lake Drive, Decatur, 404-377-0250.
