Polk County restaurant fails inspection

A Polk County restaurant failed a recent health inspection. Barterhouse Bar & Grill in Rockmart scored 65/U on Jan. 8 A previous score of 100/A was achieved on Nov. 6.

According to the report, the person-in-charge lacks awareness in key areas of risk factor

control for establishment.

Other violations:

■ A cook handled several types of raw meat, ready to eat food (bread, buns, lettuce) and utensils without washing hands in between.

■ Reheated food for hot holding did not reach 165 degrees within two hours.

■ Chipotle butter made in-house stored next to the grill was at 69 degrees. At night the container is placed back in the cooler.

■ Several drinking glasses, bowls, plates and metal containers stored wet stacked at the dish washing area, cook line, bar area

and drink station.

Most restaurants with failed scores are reinspected within 10 days.
