Oklahoma opioid suit: The state of Oklahoma, which last year won a court verdict against opioid manufactur­er Johnson & Johnson, filed suit Monday against three mammoth drug distributo­rs, accusing them of contributi­ng to the drug crisis by indiscrimi­nately sending billions of painkiller­s across the country. Oklahoma State Attorney General Mike Hunter said McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health and Amerisourc­eBergen delivered more than 34 billion doses of narcotics to Oklahoma and the rest of the U.S. between 2006 and 2012, failing to halt plainly suspicious drug orders because they were making so much money.

Nader pleads guilty: George Nader, a key witness in the special counsel probe of Russian interferen­ce in the 2016 presidenti­al election, admitted Monday to bringing a 14-year-old boy to the United States for sex and to possessing child pornograph­y. A wealthy Lebanese-American businessma­n with long-standing political influence in both Washington and the Middle East, Nader faces at least a decade in federal prison following his guilty plea.

France sending more soldiers to

West Africa: France announced Monday that it will send hundreds more soldiers to West Africa, and five presidents of countries in the region said they welcome the support in the fight against a surge of Islamist violence.
