FROM TWO FREE THROWS TO AN ANKLE SPRAIN CONTROVERS­Y TO A SNAKE

Kobe Bryant played in 29 games against the Hawks over his 20-year career. The 18-time all-star averaged 22.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists, shooting 45.3% from the field. Here’s a look at Bryant’s career versus the Hawks:

Nov. 10, 1996:

In his debut against the Hawks he scored two points, both from the free-throw line, with three rebounds and an assist in a 92-85 win in Los Angeles.

Feb. 27, 1997:

Made his debut in Atlanta and was held scoreless, playing just one minute of an 8675 loss.

Dec. 18, 1997:

Scored 19 points with two rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes of a 98-96 win in Atlanta.

Jan. 2, 1998:

Scored 12 points with three rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes of a 116106 win in Los Angeles.

Dec. 15, 1999:

Scored 30 points with seven rebounds and two assists in 41 minutes of a 95-88 Lakers win in Atlanta.

March 19, 2001:

Nov. 1, 2009:

Scored 41 points, a career-best against the Hawks, with eight rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes of a 118110 win in Los Angeles. He was 15-of-29 from the field.

Feb. 22, 2011:

Scored 20 points with three rebounds and five assists in 26 minutes of a 104-80 win in Los Angeles.

March 8, 2011:

Feb. 14, 2012:

March 3, 2013:

March 13, 2013:

Suffered a severe left ankle sprain on the final shot when he landed on Dahntay Jones’s foot.“As defensive players, you can contest shots, but you can’t walk underneath players. That’s dangerous for the shooter,” Bryant said. Scored 31 points with seven rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes of the 96-92 loss in Atlanta.

Dec. 16, 2013:

In his fifth game back after missing eight months with a torn Achilles tendon, scored eight points with three rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes of a 114-100 loss in Atlanta.

Nov. 18, 2014:

Scored 28 points with four rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes of a 114109 win in Atlanta.

Dec. 4, 2015:

In final game against the Hawks and in Atlanta, scored 14 points with three rebounds and five assists in 35 minutes of a 100-87 loss in Atlanta. He declined an on-court presentati­on but did acknowledg­e the fan reception several times. He walked on the court following the video tribute and waved to the crowd. He returned and again waved to each side of Philips Arena following the game to a chorus of cheers. Zoo Atlanta named its black mamba snake “Kobe.”
