Thai restaurant in Henry County fails health check

A Thai restaurant in Henry County failed a recent health inspection. Sabiang Thai in McDonough had a score of 59/U on Jan. 28. Previous scores were 72/C on July 25, 2018, and 82/B on Feb. 15, 2017.

According to the report, there were no invoices to verify an approved source for fish products served at the sushi bar. Other violations:

■ Employee bottled drinks and food items were mingled with customer food items and on prep surfaces and in the cooler.

■ There was no soap at the hand sink in the kitchen nor paper towels at the hand sink on the service line.

■ Cold foods weren’t maintained at 41 degrees or below.

■ Hot foods weren’t not maintained at 135 degrees or above.

■ There were numerous containers and squirt bottles that were not properly identified with the common name.

■ Raw chicken and raw fish were thawing at room temperature and in standing water. Items must be thawed from freezer to cooler, under running cold water, in microwave or cooked from frozen.

■ There were numerous food items present in the freezer that were not stored in a sanitary manner. Numerous products mixed all together and bags/boxes of food were frozen into each other due to excessive ice build up in freezer.

Most restaurants with failed scores are reinspected within 10 days.
