Parks activity areas, pavilions closed

- DAVID IBATA FOR THE AJC FORSYTH COUNTY

Forsyth County has announced activity areas in its parks, including playgrounds, basketball courts and dog parks, will be closed “in the interest of public health.”

Other closed Forsyth County Parks and Recreation facilities will include tennis and volleyball courts, ballfields, skate areas and pavilions. Green spaces and trails will remain open, sunrise to sunset. Parks staff will be contacting residents who have upcoming reservations for pavilions and other facilities.

“Park visitors are asked to follow social distancing guidelines as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help slow the spread of COVID-19,” the county said. “This includes limiting groups to 10 or less individuals and maintaining 6 feet of separation between individuals.”

All Parks and Recreation indoor facilities were closed last week, and programs have been canceled or postponed. Information: bit.ly/2UrSqAu
